22 Eräänä päivänä Jeesus astui opetuslastensa kanssa veneeseen ja sanoi heille: "Nyt lähdemme vastarannalle." He lähtivät vesille. [8:22-25: Matt. 8:23-27; Mark. 4:35-41] |
22 Niin tapahtui eräänä päivänä, että hän astui opetuslapsinensa venheeseen ja sanoi heille: "Menkäämme järven tuolle puolen". Ja he lähtivät vesille. |
22 And it came to pass, on one of the days, that he himself went into a boat with his disciples, and he said unto them, `We may go over to the other side of the lake;' and they set forth, |

23 Matkalla Jeesus nukahti. Mutta järvelle syöksyi myrskytuuli, ja veneeseen tuli vettä niin että he olivat vaarassa. |
23 Ja heidän purjehtiessaan hän nukkui. Mutta alas järvelle syöksyi myrskytuuli, ja venhe tuli vettä täyteen, ja he olivat vaarassa. |
23 and as they are sailing he fell deeply asleep, and there came down a storm of wind to the lake, and they were filling, and were in peril. |

24 Silloin opetuslapset herättivät Jeesuksen ja sanoivat: "Opettaja, opettaja, me hukumme!" Jeesus nousi ja nuhteli tuulta ja järven aaltoja. Ne asettuivat, ja tuli tyven. [Matt. 8:26+] |
24 Niin he menivät ja herättivät hänet sanoen: "Mestari, mestari, me hukumme!" Ja herättyään hän nuhteli tuulta ja veden aallokkoa; ja ne asettuivat, ja tuli tyven. |
24 And having come near, they awoke him, saying, `Master, master, we perish;' and he, having arisen, rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and there came a calm, |

25 "Missä teidän uskonne on?" kysyi Jeesus. Opetuslapset joutuivat pelon valtaan ja sanoivat hämmästyneinä toisilleen: "Mikä mies tämä oikein on? Hän käskee jopa tuulta ja vettä, ja ne tottelevat häntä." |
25 Ja hän sanoi heille: "Missä on teidän uskonne?" Mutta pelko oli vallannut heidät, ja he ihmettelivät, sanoen toisilleen: "Kuka onkaan tämä, kun hän käskee sekä tuulia että vettä, ja ne tottelevat häntä?" |
25 and he said to them, `Where is your faith?' and they being afraid did wonder, saying unto one another, `Who, then, is this, that even the winds he doth command, and the water, and they obey him?' |
